Hi everyone! I just got back from a really fun tour with Celts premiering a new show Celtic Roots! It tells the story of how the Scots and Irish came to America and how Celtic music influenced Bluegrass and Country. It has a cool vibe with new arrangements and instrumentation. I sing lead vocals, bvs and play fiddle in the show. I also do the narration!! We also got the opportunity to perform on the Grand Ole Opry last Saturday night! What an honor and great feeling! It was such a privilege to share the stage with Ricky Skaggs who was hosting the segment we performed on, and meet artists I have long admired: Patty Loveless and Vince Gill.

I have decided to postpone my solo tour to May, Dates to be announced.  Next I play in Nashville with John Carter Cash and friends at the Exit Inn, followed by a trip out West with John Carter and John McEuen for the tribute to the Carter Family show!

In the meantime I will be working on new material and doing some exciting co-writes in Nashville.

hugs

Laura

today

I shot a new video this week of an acoustic version of a song i am getting ready to record. i wrote the song not long after i first moved to Nashville with Wilson Picket producer Jon Tiven and his wife Sally Tiven at their house in Nashville. I loved the vibe but had never performed it live till the other week, so this week i decided to shoot a video of it to share with everyone. My new friend and wonderful Nashville session musician Charlie McCoy will be featured on this new recording. I had the pleasure of recording fiddle for Charlie for his new upcoming celtic record out at Ricky Skagg's studio the other week. That was an amazing experience! so much history and talent within those walls! I could feel it!!!
Sept 24th 2014:
My recording for my new song is going really well. I have recorded lead vocals, fiddle, guitar and bass by the talented Mike Lousdermilk, bvs by the amazing Allie Bencar, and had the pleasure of featuring one of Nashville's own top session player Charlie McCoy on harmonica! You might know him in the UK for the Old Grey Whistle Test. In Nashville he was one of the cats responsible for creating that original Nashville sound! A legend!
